This March 4th, CARE will be joining forces with the top-selling juggernaut book, Half the Sky. Written by the Pulitzer Prize winners Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, the authors have been vocal about the need to turn “oppression into opportunity for women worldwide.”
Yacoobi sees education as the portal to rebuilding her country. In the mid-1990s, she created and implemented a network of eighty underground home schools after the Taliban outlawed education for girls.
The film interweaves the stories of three women who are each transforming the world through individual actions. One is changing the way that people think. The other two are building understanding and relationships, impelled by the pain of their personal experiences.
